saving vs INVESTING mindset

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

check out this topic on my YouTube channel via this link.

from as far as i can remember my parents & everyone around me placed major importance on “SAVING”. it is only after coming across the IAV community & radically shifting my money mindset (& that shift is constantly changing) that i now understand that – SAVING IS SUCH A STAGNANT ENERGY!

all of these years of working i’ve always tried tirelessly & actually unsuccessfully to save from my income. every time i would save some money, i would end up using it at some point – for some reason! it felt so frustrating to always be trying to increase my savings only to see it inevitably used up.

one of the definitions of save as defined by merriam-webster.com is to put aside as a store or reserve” with the synonym “accumulate”. so another word we can use for save is hold which brings us right back to STAGNANCY. just as with everything money is energy & energy must flow. we mustn’t attempt to keep energy as it is not ours to hold onto - money is not ours to hold onto - WE MUST ALLOW IT TO FLOW – otherwise we will experience undeniable stagnancy when it comes to money in our lives. to keep the energy of money flowing in & out of our lives we ought to shift our mindset from saving to investing. invest as defined by merriam-webster.com means “to commit (money) in order to earn a financial return”. i don’t know about you but i’d rather money work for me than the other way around! when we invest, we allow money to work for us!

it is also necessary to change up our vocabulary a little - i have seen the shift in my personal life by replacing the word “buy” with INVEST. so allowing money to flow doesn’t mean that we go about spending carelessly & without intention - we make informed investments that will bring more money into our lives. we invest in ourselves, we invest in others’ businesses/creative efforts, we invest in experiences that bring us joy, we invest in food that is nourishing for the mind, body & spirit, we invest in loved ones (whatever way we are called to), & we never forget about charitable investments.
