recipe - CASHEW 'CHEEZ' SAUCE

ingredients:

  • 1 cup of cashews

  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice

  • ¼ teaspoon pink salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder

  • 6 tablespoons of water



instructions:

  • soak cashews overnight in room temperature water or 15-20 minutes in boiling water. (this makes them soft & easier to blend)

  • to blender add all ingredients & blend on high until they have reached a smooth consistency. taste & adjust any seasonings based on your palette.

  • store in an airtight container refrigerated.

  • ENJOY on your salads, in your sandwiches, burgers or as a dip!


notes:

  • adjust the amount of water, based on the consistency you prefer for the cheese. less water for a thicker sauce & more water for a thinner sauce.

  • add herbs such as parsley, cilantro, basil, or thyme for an Italian type of taste to the sauce.
