if i can recall correctly the first time i heard the word or the phrase shadow work was during the period after my parents’ transitions when i was experiencing challenges processing their deaths - & i think i was just searching for anything that could help me to get through it. i was on YouTube & came across this channel Christina Lopez where she talked about shadow work & how it benefits & so i just dove in because i was at the point where i just wanted to try anything at all that could help me!
i have to say that honestly when i first started i thought it was a one & done fix but it really isn't. the more i do it, the more i become aware of the fact that it's a lifestyle practice. because we're always evolving, we're always growing & so there are always parts of us that are outdated, parts that we need to let go of. those parts may be parts that we don't like & so that's where the shadow work comes in - we get to find those parts, face them, make peace with them & let them go!
recently, with everything that has been coming up for me - shadow work has become almost a daily practice at this point. usually, it was maybe once a month or twice a month but then it got to the point where that just wasn’t enough & the more i released, the more things come up that i'm required to face & GROW through if i ever want to get to the point that i am really desiring to get to!
are you familiar with this practice?
